Flying from Duncan, BC
Duncan, the heart of the Cowichan Valley, doesn't have its own commercial airport — but you have two good options nearby. Nanaimo Airport (YCD) is approximately 45 minutes north, while Victoria International Airport (YYJ) is about 1 hour south. For international connections or the widest range of airlines, some travellers also opt for BC Ferries to Vancouver International Airport (YVR), though this adds 3+ hours to the journey.
Seasonal Booking Tip
During summer (July–August), BC Ferries from Swartz Bay frequently logs 1–2 sailing waits on weekends. If you're catching an early international departure, fly from YYJ or drive to YCD rather than risk missing a ferry and your flight.
